Security…X? A New CompTIA Cybersecurity Certification

Information technology training and certification provider, CompTIA, recently announced a new series of certifications known as the XPERT Series. Aimed at mid-career tech professionals, in cloud computing, computer networking, data, and cybersecurity — the XPERT Series exams are slated to be available beginning in 2024.

The SecurityX will replace CompTIA’s CASP, and is intended to:

• Validate job tasks performed by a security professional with 10 years of IT experience and 5 years of security experience

• Be designed around the tasks performed by senior security engineer and security architect role

• Be a natural progression from the job roles aligned to Security+
